The Kriegers are in Paris

Our neighbors the Kriegers arrived today.  Kate gave Sande about 10 minutes to hang up her clothes in their apartment and then wanted her over to our apartment to see her.
We had our usual baguette sandwiches for lunch with Mike, Sande, Spencer and Kayla.  That meant buying our third Compaillette of the day at the bakery.  Which meant we had to try a few pastries when we went back to the bakery.

Spencer decided that this new raspberry éclair should be called "Mr. Pinkie."  I think Spencer was a bit punchy from the jet lag.
Sande wanted to go to Bon Marché and Kate and I quickly agreed.  We found the grocery cart this week buried in the hall closet so we grabbed that and off we went on the métro.
First we stopped at the Bon Marché department store and looked at the clothes, stationery and housewares.  The store is beautiful and filled with designer clothes that were mostly out of our price range--even the clothes on sale.

We loved the style and heft of the pans in the housewares department.  Sande commented that you just don't find such good pans in the US.
Lusting after those pans!

After the department store, we went across the street to the Bon Marché grocery store to stock up on our favorites--salted caramel madeleines, meringues, Angelina hot chocolate and more.
We got crêpes from the rue Cler for dinner.  We managed to keep everyone awake until after 8:00 and hope they are over their jet lag in the morning when we set off for Chartres Cathedral.
