Sunday in Paris

We woke early and rode the métro to church.  I love riding the métro Sunday mornings.  It is not crowded or hot.  And usually there is someone making music on the long walk between the No. 8 and the No. 1 lines.  This morning it was the accordion and sousaphone duo.  We have seen them there a lot.
There were many familiar faces at church and lots of visitors--probably more visitors than members.  Kate's roommate from fall semester, Alex, was there with her little sister so we had a nice visit with them.  Frère Anzi was really happy to see Kelly.
On our way home I stopped at the white bakery for our Campaillette and Sunday pastries.  Today we tried a tartelette citron and an éclair chocolat.  We weren't able to wait until after dinner to sample them.

We decided since it was a rainy Sunday, we needed naps.  Then Sunday evening when the rain stopped and it was nice and cool we went out for a walk.  Kate found interesting doors and buildings on our way to the Eiffel Tower.

We found a Paris fire engine for Andrew.

On the quai behind the Eiffel Tower was a summer market called the village de l'été.

There were stalls selling everything from food to Russian stacking dolls to jewelry.

At the end were trampolines for the little kids who were safely harnessed in.

We walked over to the pedestrian bridge for great views of the Eiffel Tower.  We loved strolling in the cool weather.

On the way home Kate spied this Flower Shop sign on the Avenue Bosquet.

Just another lazy Sunday in Paris.
