Rambling with the Hetts in Paris

Our good friends from grad school at Columbia, Barb and Kyle Hettinger, were good enough to let their daughters, Mary Claire and Madeleine, be a part of our Paris Study Abroad program this winter.  Barb and Kyle came to Paris last week with two of their sons and Monday we went wandering with them in Paris.
First we went to the bridge behind Notre Dame that has the locks on it.

Kate didn't bring a lock, but she found one on the bridge without any writing.  So she decided to fill it up.

After we said goodbye to Paris at the bridge, we walked over to the Pompidou Museum and met Barbara.  There was a great view of Paris from the Terrace at the top.

Some of the art at the Pompidou was interesting and some of it was just very strange.  I did love the Chagall painting "The Bridal Pair with the Eiffel Tower."

Andrew couldn't understand what a giant chicken was doing in the painting.  I guess modern art isn't his thing.  On the way home to the apartment, Andrew took the gang to get Grec sandwiches stuffed with frites for a late lunch.  Everyone loved them.  We had fun wandering with our old friends in Paris and hope to see them again this summer at Mary Claire's wedding.
