Thursday was Julian's next to the last day with us and the Arc de Triomphe was one of the last places on his Paris list to visit.

Julian and Andrew at the Arc de Triomphe |
We walked up to the top--all 284 steps. There was a great view from the top. We saw the Eiffel Tower.

We could see out to Sacré Coeur and up to the modern arch at La Défense.

And of course we could see down the Champs Elysée, one of Kate's favorite places to shop. I think Zara is her favorite store and she knows the best Zara locations in the city (there are at least two on the Champs Elysée).

We walked back down the 284 steps--it was much easier than the walk up. At the bottom we found the tomb of the unknown soldier.

After the Arc de Triomphe we went to Notre Dame again to look at the sculptures and stained glass windows.

This is why I love Paris--isn't it beautiful? Leaving on Saturday is going to be very difficult.
