The Students Have Finally Arrived!

Our 14 students finally arrived on Friday!  Don't they look like a great group?  Kate was so excited to have someone besides her parents to hang out with.

Their flights started landing before 6 am and the last student arrived at the hotel at 9 pm.  It was a long day!  Kelly headed over to the hotel and met the first group about 8 am.  He stayed at the hotel through the afternoon until all the girls but Phoebe had arrived.  He brought them to the apartment about 3:30 and we gave them their cell phones, cash for metro passes (Navigos), etc.  Then they scattered into the neighborhood  to buy minutes for their phones, go to the bank, or charge their Navigos while I finished up dinner.

We had quiche and salad for dinner and of course baguettes and Orangina.  For dessert we had two Galettes des Rois because it is still the season.

We made Kate go under the table once again to tell us to whom to serve each piece.  She says she really doesn't like it under the table and this is the last time!  It is tough to be the youngest.  Brooke and Samantha had the fève in their pieces so they were each crowned king for the day.

Brooke's fève was a yellow cow and Sam received a purple elephant!  Don't Brooke and Sam look cute in their crowns?

Everyone was very tired so Kelly took them back to the hotel about 6:30 and waited there for Phoebe to arrive.

We started to panic about 8 pm when Phoebe still hadn't made it to the hotel even though her flight landed at 5:30.  We were in the process of tracking her down when the airport shuttle finally showed up at 9 pm.  It was just Friday night Paris traffic that held her up--we were both relieved.

This is a really fun group of girls.  We even have two sets of sisters--Madeleine and Mary Claire, and Sam and Audrey.  We can't wait for all the adventures to come with the group in the next three months!
