Luna in Paris

We were sad to see Carter leave Paris last week but have been enjoying Kate and Luna for a bit longer. Luna has quickly become a Parisian pug.

She is really good about riding on the bus and the métro. She is starting to get used to hopping in her little travel bag. She tried to get on the bus once without being in her bag and the driver quickly informed Kelly that Luna must go in the bag. Nice try Luna!

Luna knows the front door to our apartment building and that she lives up one flight of stairs. After a walk, she bounds up the stairs and impatiently waits for us to unlock the door.

Luna loves to people watch out the window of our apartment. So much to see!

And she likes a good falafel sandwich. The best in town is on rue des Rosiers in the Marais. Although standing in the 30-45 minute line does get a bit tiring.

Luna wanted to check out our church building in the Marais since she won't be able to go with us on Sunday.

Luna approves of the new office where Kelly will have a desk to research and write at Science Po. It is in Place de St. Thomas d'Aquin next to a big church. It will open later this month.

Sometimes you just need a break from all that walking around Paris. A stop at a café is just what Luna needed to rest those tired feet. She was lucky enough to get a taste of Kate's omelet. Dogs are welcome when you eat outside in the cafés and some even allow them inside.

After reviving at the café, it was time to find some dogs to play with. There are very few grassy areas for dogs to play and run around on in the winter. One place is the lawn behind the Musée des Arts Décoratifs (MAD), located in a western wing of the Louvre Palace. Luna made friends with Cosmo from Germany and Tino a pug from Italy. Later another pug, Watson, joined the fray. Luna had the time of her life.

We enjoyed chatting with people from all over Europe, all of whom spoke great English, while the dogs played. Afterwards, Luna was ready to head home for a long nap. We walked back towards the main part of the Louvre to wait for a bus home.

We will definitely miss Luna (and Kate) when they leave next week. We look forward to their return with Carter in March when Carter will prepare to run the Paris Marathon with Kelly.
*Addendum:
Sometimes when your pup is in Paris for several weeks her blanket and toys get dirty and slobbery and you have to wash them. Luna was not happy to see everything go in the wash last night and stood vigil in front of the washing machine, waiting to get her toys back.

  1. The term "lucky dog" applies here! So lovely for you to have your grand-dog with you on this trip!

  2. It has been so much fun to have her here. She is such the cosmopolitan dog between NYC and Paris!
